2 weeks after having left the horror ob Bullas, the doggies are doing well. recovering slowly from mange , having adapted well to the hound gang and feeling save with me.
they still show the signs of neglect but their souls have healed faster than their bodies. they are not panicking anymore, wagg their tales when they see me and one of them even decided to sleep in my bed when i was in the shower.
the 2 galgas have adapted even better and are fully recovered mentally, their skin is still redish from the mange but its getting better daily.
8 dogs have been able to leave the horror from bullas to be with us.
we had come from over 600km to bullas and when we arrived, the rescue groups had taken all the healthy and good looking galgos and ibician hounds, leaving these ppor podencos and the 2 leishmania galgas behind. foreign groups had “reserved” dogs and when they had been positive on leishmania, rejected them, a french association wanted to separate a podenca from her only 2 weeks old pup to sterilise the podenca and sending her to france without fullfilling the legal dates of vaccination and without considering the welfare of the puppy. spanish rescuers refused to send the dogs and now they are rehomed happily in spain.
Unfortunatly is PRO-SETTER having big problems to gather the information and vet reports of the rescued dogs for the court case because certain rescue groups just snatched nice doggies but do not participate nor help with vet information.
shame what’s beeing done in the name of animal rescue!!
on this linke you may see the pictures of the rescue in bullas http://progalgo.wordpress.com/2012/03/10/die-holle-von-bullas/

Well done to you for helping the needy ones, it is a shame that some rescues only want healthy dogs. In my eyes it is the needy ones that should get the most help.

I……Andreas animal rescue, galgos del sol …..and la fortaleze attended Bullas to find the dogs in an horrific state ,,,massive cuts to there body’s ripped ears hundreds of ticks ….and generally poorly dogs …all the 14 dogs we got were not snatched …but loving nurtured out ……all are ill i have 2 at the moment fostered for gds …and only just turning a corner …..one has leishmania …and needed stitch’s the other needed 6 stitch’s ,had an eye infection and a broken tail …i can honestly say WE took some of the worse ones along with other rescue centres ……please don’t criticize any
one WE ALL DID A FANTASTIC JOB …thankyou
Certain other groups are refusing to give information on the dogs they collected. This can only lead to supposition and speculation. Everything done on the rescue days in Bulla must be totally transparent to eliminate rumours. Please everyone co-operate with Pro-Setter to collate facts and figures.
What an awful write up. SNATCHED doggies. Oh come on. If a charity is delayed in handing in papers why don’t you ask them the reason instead of attacking them in this way. Good god, I feel very sad reading this. Those poor volunteers that gave so much to help those dogs only to be shot down.
hello from spain
i was in bullas the day we had to take all the dogs, the day the judge has given us!
all the good looking galgos were already gone, barly any podencos had been taken, and if so, only the big tall ibician hounds and all the smallis podencos, the very sick ones, the mixed ones were left behind. i stayed until the very last moment and took all the dogs that nobody wanted, 8 of them.
its just not fair that people always take either the ones they can make big fundraising issues out of them or the ones that are fast rehomed because of being good looking
of course some spanish and geman rescueres did take also “leftovers” but the wellknown charities only wanted healthy and good looking dogs, as usual
best wishes
