Here are the photos of MAX with his new mother KARMEN and her partner.
They came from Lleida to collect MAX from my home, and as you can see his parents are delighted
)
MAX was on his best behaviour when we went out for lunch. When he saw the food on the table he changed into a shark and wanted to steal everything…..a sur sign of a pure spanisg galgo (greyhound) …….ha ha ha
Also spanish people love galgos!

On Tuesday they came to collect her.
Aixa spent her last night at my home huddled up against my back,in my bed, snoring like a polar bear.
It took us both along time to fall asleep.I thought how my life would be without AIXA. No one to bark even at a fly; without her snoring on the sofa; without my stubborn AIXA , obese because of her apetite, and without my “cyclist chaser”. She is by far the dog who defended best my home for life and death.
So far AIXA has had a bad time in life. She was mutilated, they took away some of her puppies and she was ill treated constantly, then at my place her life changed. Lots of cuddles, long walks and her own garden to defend ![]()
Thanks to PEPI and her daughter in Lora de Rio,who took her in and sent her to us.
Kathie and her Mother came from Perpignan to collect her.We all went together with AIXA to the village café where she behaved herself and of course ate up the food that her new Mummy offered her at the table (a good start!!….ha ha )
Aixa now lives with an older cat and her owner who only works half time. She has a country home with a garden, and they are going to spoil her!…of course!
Thankyou AIXA for passing through here and good luck in France!

Today we took Jacob the Podenco and our special Rodney to the Tellington Touch Centre near Bath for some healing work and training. One of our foster dogs, the lovely Ash came with us too as he is still a little nervous. The centre, run by the famous animal behaviourist Sarah Fisher, is home to mistreated horses and a wonderful place to bring nervous and mistreated animals such as Jacob and Rodney.
We had a wonderful day and all three dogs made some great progress. Jacob did amazingly well and even let one of the practitioners, Garry, walk and touch him even though he is usually scared of men!!

this galga was found in a small village near Seville. Due to the malnourishment and severe lack of vitamines, healthy food and water, she was barly able to walk anymore.
NATI, the lady who found and saved her, had sent an email to many galgo rescue groups and I called her to offer help. We will finances the recovery and preparation of LILA and can do this thanks to the wonderfull auction held on Sighthound Welfare Trust UK.
We hope to have LILA with us in about 2 weeks time, right now she is in a bording kennel recovering slowly but steadily from her horrible past. She was negative in leishmania and mange but we will make a liver-kidney function test tomorrow.
cross your fingers and paws for LILA!

The lady who found her, named her MARIFLOR…
The veterinary tried to reconstruct her leg, we can only cross all fingers and paws and hope that he can save her leg, if not, amputation will be the only solution.
For donations, please check here: http://progalgoenglish.wordpress.com/how-to-help-the-galgos/

Jacob took the long journey from Spain to Bristol just over a week ago now and he has made wonderful progress since then ![]()
He wouldnt let me touch him for a day or 2 but now trusts me completely, although he will still only approach Paul from behind, and if he turns around Jacob backs away
a remnant of his abuse sadly ![]()
Sadly his mutilated ear became infected during the journey so I am having to clean it every day to stop the pus from building up and running into what is left of the ear canal
He is so good now and lets me do it with no problem.
The last few days he has had a waggy tail and even does a bit of a dance when we come home now, rather than being frightened of us
He loves the other dogs and was play bowing and barking at Lucy today
He has totally accepted them all and the are not bothered by him at all. He loves to snuggle down between them and definitly feels more relaxed and confident when around other dogs.
Anyway here are some pictures of the lovely chap
