Sadly earlier this week our beloved elderly and neglected galga JOYA had to be put to sleep.

Early in the week JOYA developed a fever and was very sick, hardly even moving. Her carer PIEDY took her to the vet and it was apparent that she had gone into complete organ failure due to her starvation. Due to her mammary cancer and her Leishmania it was decided that it was kindest to end her suffering.

The previous day she had been happy and running in the fields and really enjoying her new life. At least we know that her last days were happy ones and finally she found love, care and friendship in PIEDY, and that now at last her suffering has come to an end.

Thankyou PIEDY for helping this old girl when she needed it most.

Sleep well JOYA.

I am very sad to hear that Joya has left this world.Poor baby it seems she only knew suffering until Pro Galgo got her and gave her back her life for her last days. And that she died having known love. Thank you Piedy – and big hugs to you as you must be very very sad.

I am very sorry to read that Joya has died. How sad it took so long for her to find love, but how lovely that in the end she did know the love, care and joy that she obviously did. Run Free Joya, thank you Piedy for giving her that care and love. Hugs for you at this sad time.
