1 Nov

Thanks to Jane and Chuck Totten, sighthound lovers from Washington state, 5 or even 6 hounds will travel on the 5th of November to a new life in the US. During their stay in Spain we took them to visit many shelters and we even did a walk with the hounds at the sunday market and both were surprised to see the friendly reaction of the people towards the galgos and podencos.

Here some impressions of our excoursions in Catalonya.

A hunter here in the U.S. surrendered two of his Galgos to our rescue group last week. One has extensive neurological problems resulting from a high speed collision with another dog while out hunting. This dog is so, so sweet and deserves a home where he’ll be part of a family rather than relegated to a pen outdoors which is where he lived the first 6 years of his life. He’s here with me until we find his forever home. We vow to include dialogue about the cruelty these dogs experience in addition to our current goal of seeing the U.S. dog racing industry end.
